For elementary school-age kids — options for teachers, child workers, and families.

Workshops have been approved and are regularly conducted in various elementary schools in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools system..

Each workshop program is based on:
  •  the self-development workshops I conduct at Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools
  •  the 4 social and emotional learning (SEL) books* in my “Growing Up with Daniel and Posey” series

Choose one or a series of two or more to fit your group’s needs. Also, group facilitator workshops are available for teachers, parent groups, and anyone who works with children.

To help kids remember what they learn, the programs are designed to be:
  • Fun, even though some serious topics are discussed.
  • Individualized to meet the needs of the group.
  • Engaging to keep their attention.

Group discussions and activities are adapted for various ages and grade levels. We aim for connection, respect, and compassion. This means that kids develop greater sensitivity and can better express themselves and handle difficult situations.

While the workshops stand on their own, to help kids apply the tools even better, this can be followed up with additional sessions, group coaching on how to apply the strategies in various situations, refining skills, and learning additional skills.

*Note: While I’ve conducted numerous workshops using the stories, the series is awaiting publication. Currently looking for the “right” publisher that can guide the illustrations and distribute the books to a wider audience.
