Kids are led through a colorful mixed media creative art experience with optional writing and poetry. Not only is this a wonderful way to have fun and be creative, but it also encourages us to be mindful as we focus on and express the positives, the beauty, and the “sunshine” in our lives.
This self-enrichment workshop encourages joyfulness, gratitude, and a positive point of view. Because it’s based on what you choose to pay attention to and look at what inspires you, it goes deeper than just drawing and writing things down. Besides learning new skills, it can lead to several keepsake “feel good” books.
As an example, children might focus on a positive thing that happened during their day. They could collage it, draw it, give it a color, design a shape, use a symbol, letters, words, or whatever. And, best of all, they’re free to add to their book later at any time. When full, they can enjoy it and feel free to start a new one.
It’s also a good anti-anxiety tool. Much research cites benefits such as stress reduction and improving mental and even physical health for those who journal. Why not the children in your life?
